Tooth of the Arrow FAQ

-Do Tooth of the Arrow broadheads work well with crossbows?

Yes. Our single-piece, low profile design is a great fit for crossbows. Since we have eliminated all moving parts and air gaps our broadheads thrive at high speeds.

-Besides the cutting diameter, what is the difference between the 1-inch models and the 1-3/16-inch models?

Both the 1-inch and 1-3/16-inch models have the same design and manufacturing process. Since the 1-3/16-inch has a 33% wider cutting diameter than the 1-inch, the rest of the broadhead has been scaled up by 33% as well (33% longer).

-What is the difference between the 1-inch models and the 1-3/16-inch models?

The main differences between the v-series and series are; the vented broadheads fly slightly better but are a little less durable and can make a little noise (due to the vents). The non-vented broadheads are totally quiet and slightly more durable. However, they can drift a little if there is a crosswind.

-What is the best way to care for Tooth of the Arrow broadheads?

We recommend properly cleaning your broadheads after each use. That means wiping them down, touching up the blades if needed, and applying a small amount of honing oil to the blades to create a protective barrier.

-What, besides the vents, is the difference between the solid-series and vented-series?

The main differences between the v-series and s-series are; the vented broadheads fly slightly better but are a little less durable and can make a little noise (due to the vents). The non-vented broadheads are totally quiet and slightly more durable. However, they can drift a little if there is a crosswind.

-How do you use the Tooth of the Arrow sharpener?

The best way to use our sharpener is to push the broadhead with even and firm pressure away from you with the tip facing away (threads towards you). Since our broadheads are heat-treated it could take several passes per blade. Also, our sharpener works equally well dry or with some honing oil. However, we recommend using some oil since it will add a protective coat to the blades.
